RT-130 Annual Fire Line Safety Refresher for AFE students (SAFE) ~ This workshop offers any AFE student member the chance to complete S130 Refresher Course.  Monday, May 19, 8-5pm.  See this link for more details. ***SPACES STILL AVAILABLE!  SIGN UP SOON FOR THIS FREE COURSE***

Volunteer ~ Students can get even more discounted conference fees when they volunteer. Simply choose this option on the registration form, and we’ll get in touch with you as the event draws near.  Volunteers generally help out during sessions, so you won’t miss out on attending your favorite talks.  Other volunteer tasks can included helping at registration, helping prepare the day before, and AV tech help.

SAFE National Meeting ~ The Student Association for Fire Ecology will hold it’s annual national meeting at this conference.  The meeting will be Monday evening, 5-6:30pm in the University Center, Room 332.

Student Mixer ~ There will be a no-host social/mixer for everyone attending the conference, from 6-8pm Monday in the second level of the University Center.  Students will be offered identifiable student badges so they can find each other and so professionals can engage with them more easily.

Student Poster contest ~ AFE and IAWF will present first and second place awards for the best posters designed and presented by students.  These will be cash awards, and will be announced at the Wednesday Awards Banquet.

Student-Mentor Lunch ~ We will be offering a lunchtime get-together for students to meet and network with professionals.  Space is limited so sign up soon!  There is no charge to attend this event, but registration is required.  ***This event is full.***

Travel Scholarship ~ The Association for Fire Ecology will be giving out the Mike da Luz Memorial Student Travel Scholarship at this conference.

Travel Grants ~ TREE student travel grants are available for this event. The deadline to submit completed grant application packages is March 21, 2014.
